California Bar Foundation Scholarship Programs

Read about our 2012 Scholars here
To help high-achieving California law students committed to public service meet the financial burden of attending law school and preparing for a legal career serving the community, the Foundation offers three scholarship programs:
For the Public Interest and Public Interest Bar Exam Scholarships, the Foundation works with California law schools, which nominate top students for the Foundation's financial awards. Diversity Scholarship applicants submit their applications directly to the Foundation.
Public Interest Bar Exam and Diversity Scholarship awards are distributed in person each fall at the Foundation's Annual Scholarship Reception.
The funding for our programs, including all of our scholarship programs, comes from our law firm and corporate sponsors, the state's lawyers, and our other donors. To see our list of top donors, click here.
- Diversity Scholarships to support incoming law students from groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession in the critical first year of law school.
- Public Interest Bar Exam Scholarships to assist recent and soon-to-be law school graduates pursuing Public Interest careers with the fees and expenses related to taking the California Bar Exam
