Public Education Publications
The Foundation is proud to partner with the State Bar of California to fund the publication of three public education guides that discuss legal issues of importance to seniors, children and their parents, and young adults. With the assistance of community partners, each year the Foundation and the State Bar distribute millions of copies of three guides – When You Turn 18: A Survival Guide for Teenagers, Kids & the Law: An A-to-Z Guide for Parents, and Seniors & the Law: A Guide for Maturing Californians – throughout the state. To reach California’s increasingly diverse population, the guides are available in English and Spanish and are provided free of charge. In 2011, the Foundation made a special $50,000 grant to fund an updated publication of When You Turn 18, which provides teenagers with valuable information to help navigate the exciting and sometimes daunting transition from childhood to adulthood.
